Bengal

This cat is a cross between a domestic cat and a wild cat from Asia. He is affectionate and sociable but very active and will need to exercise. His coat is beautiful because it looks like a small panther, for its maintenance a weekly brushing is enough.  Although the Bengal has inherited the physical characteristics of the Asian leopard cat from which it comes in part, it is nevertheless an easy-going cat, soft and sociable. Medium to large, it is characterized by a physical constitution that is athletic, powerful, agile and graceful. Devoid of aggressiveness and very curious, the Bengal is also very intelligent. In short, it is a cat full of qualities, able to adapt to a variety of life frames, easy to maintain and getting along with all members of the family.

how can I find out more about the show?

Unique in France! Paris Animal Show is above all the venue where 1,000 purebred cats from all over France and abroad will be gathered to participate in several beauty contests under the aegis of three international federations, including France. This will allow you to discover around forty breeds, some of which are very little known, such as the Toyger (the miniature tiger), the Devon Rex, and of course, the Sphynx. If you are planning to welcome one of these superb cats, this will be a unique opportunity to compare the different breeds, talk with various breeders, and finally make an informed choice. To avoid impulse purchases and the potential regrets they may cause, and for the well-being of the animal, only reservations will be possible with the breeder. This will be an opportunity for them to advise you and explain the new "Certificate of Commitment and Knowledge" that you must now possess as a cat buyer. You will have a minimum seven-day reflection period.

What is a breed club?

A breed club is an association dedicated to the management and promotion of a breed or a group of related breeds. It deals with both the breed standard (a description of the ideal cat) and health issues specific to its breed(s). Its mission is to disseminate information to both breeders and prospective owners. 40 breed clubs are affiliated with the LOOF. There may be several clubs for the same breed, but they follow the same standard and the same system for qualifying breeding stock.

What is the LOOF?

Authorized in 1996 by the Ministry of Agriculture to issue pedigrees for purebred cats born in France, the LOOF (Official Book of Feline Origins) brings together all stakeholders in French feline breeding. In addition to maintaining the Genealogical Book, its missions include maintaining standards in collaboration with affiliated breed clubs, managing and promoting genetic resources (breeding stock qualification and genetic diseases), training judges and breeders, and informing the public and buyers.
